Falls City Pub - Ohiopyle on first street, North of the RR tracks on 381; Sandwiches, pizza etc served with a Mexican motif.
Falls Market - right on Rt 381 in Ohiopyle - THE place to be for breakfast. Has good, inexpensive food other times of day also. Check out the automotive, fishing, hardware, paper products, and more.
Firefly Café - on Sherman St. Ohiopyle, near Fire Station - Sandwiches, Wraps Pizza etc
Fox's Pizza - on Sherman St. Ohiopyle one block from 381. Great pizzas, subs etc. Kristen's Favorite: a weggie (or is it wedgie?)
Ohiopyle House Café -144 Grant St in Ohiopyle, across from bike trail. Fine dining at a reasonable price. New dining porch with music on Sat. nights. Chef came from Nemacolin. Website
High Water Café - on Rt 381 a few miles north of Ohiopyle, and just south of Falling water. This is the former "Smoke House". Come here for Bar-B-Q ribs and chicken. Eat on the deck or take out. Mike Duvall says "byo beer".
Fabrizzi's - take Rt 40 west toward Uniontown and at the very top of the mountain make a fast right turn (look for sign to Fabrizzi's), which is a "house" two miles down on the left. Excellent home-made Italian cuisine. Bar on premises. Website
Lone Star (not the chain) Take Rt 40 East toward Maryland. It is on the right several miles from 381. Good home cooking at a fair price.
Italian Oven. In Connellsville on Route 119 just North of the bridge over the Yough. Steve Ingalls says this is a good Italian restaurant with a few dishes on the menu for tomato haters. The time required for dinner is a little longer than needed to visit the buffet at the Golden Trough (Corral) across the street, but this is a better restaurant. About $7 - $9 per person. Website
San Jose Mexican Restaurant - Take 381 south, then 40 west down the mountain toward Uniontown. From the 119 by-pass, take the McClellandtown exit ramp. Turn right at the first light, then right again into the shopping center with Gabriels. Superb authentic Mexican food, served before you can bat an eye.


Middle Yough - Confluence
Rivers Edge CafeRight on the river, 203 Yough Street Confluence, PA. Upscale Bed & Breakfast, specialties include fresh seafood, crab cakes, pastas, char-grilled chicken and steak, and fresh salads. Full bar service. Website
Shepard's Farm Restaurant 7553 Kingwood Rd (route 281 N of Confluence) 814.395.3448 Lamb stew, lamb sandwiches, lamb burgers. This is a good restaraunt which opens May through September, I think. (Steve Ingalls)

Slippery Rock
B&B's on Rte. 422, a couple miles West of the bridge over the Slip. Recommended by Matt Muir and Ed Charlton who says this place is dy-no-mite!! He'd recommend the diner for their home-made pies. Why bother with food when you can eat pie like this??? Matt says - Nice, basic food (burgers and fries and chili and stuff) and service.

Mexican place in Erwin just off Main Av; limited but tasty fare.
Chinese place in Erwin right on Main Av; Good food!
River's Edge - on Rt 81 a few miles NW of I181. Operated by Cherokee Adventurers, this rustic eatery features BBQ and other good dishes - all overlooking the Nolichucky River. Beer available.


Ocoee
El Rio - Great Mexican food in Copperhill, on TN 68, 5 miles south of Ducktown. Low prices and generous portions. Beer & wine coolers (no margaritas) Steve Ingalls says very good, but can be crowded. About $7 - $10 per person.
Iron Horse Grill in Copperhill. An alternative when El Rio is too crowded. Beef, potatoes, gravy, vegetables, sweet tea. Ca. $10 per person. (Steve Ingalls)
Wild Waters Deli and Steak House. in Benton TN on highway 64 west of the National Forest Boundary. Burgers, Ribs, some fish in recent years. About $9 - 12 per person. (Steve Ingalls)

Cheat
El Charito's - Morgantown. A great little mexican resturaunt says Ron Tomallo. Heading west on 68, take the Saberton exit (just south of Morgantown and before Rt 79). Go north ~1/2 mile to a strip mall and look for El Charito's on the left, just past KFC. Perfect on the drive home from the Cheat or Upper Yough.
Little Sandy's - Bruceton Mills, North side of exit 23, I-68. Chuck's favorite: pork chop dinner.
Mary's - Across the street form the court house in the center of Kingwood. Hometown cooking; buffet on Sat night.
Chinese restaurant - At the corner of the first traffic light in Kingwood when coming up the hill from Albright. Good buffet.
Monroe's - in Kingwood on Rt 7 1 block before the Court House. Tasty deli food, pasta, etc. combined with an antique shop.


Gauley
La Carretta - Great Mexican food made and served pronto by real Mexicans. On Route 19 in Merchants Walk shopping center, Summersville, north of road to Gauley Dam. Free Wi-Fi
Chinese buffet - In Merchants Walk shopping center, opposite La Carretta, Buffet food is plentiful and tasty. On US19
Cafe Acropolis - 331 Mcmillion Dr; Summersville, 304-872-0254; A bit pricey, but really nice restaurant serving Italian and Greek food. Patio dining available. Gyros and hummus are excellent! Heading north on US-19 from the Gauley toward Summersville, turn left on Fairview Heights Rd. then turn right on McMillion Dr. The road dead-ends into the restaurant which is at the top of a hill overlooking the shopping center where Applebees and Bob Evans are.


New River
Cathedral Cafe in Fayetteville on the main drag (Rt 16) going toward Cunard (Gorge Put-in) It has good ice cream, breakfast, and the white bean chili (with chicken) was very good for lunch. Holly Kaskey
Fox's Pizza - there's a Fox's in Fayetteville too. On Rt 16 just off of Rt 19, and just up the street from the photo place.

Dirty Ernie's Rib Pit - 310 Keller Ave, Fayetteville, 304-574-4822; Reasonably priced, very casual eatery. Free peanuts (throw the shells on the floor). Tasty place to relax after a day on the river. Follow the signs off US-19.

CJ's in Parson's WV - Pizza, meatball subs, huge salads, ice cream, and the weather channel on the TV in the big room where they quarantine the paddlers. (Steve Ingalls)
